I am enjoying the holidays back at home. A little family stuff and meeting lots of my friends is having me a great time. Yesterday we had fun in the “ST”, our regular club in Rostock, and tonight (we started around 8 PM) we had a crazy little spontaneous trip to the beach and spent some time there eating and drinking and huggling together in our blankets. I mean, who has a small beach...

This is the funny story of seven engineers-to-be going to industrial selling, paying all together with a gift coupon and trying to calculate each one’s fee afterwards. But let’s start at the beginning, which was rather lucky: It’s Tuesday evening, I have just finished my second last class when Sebastian asks me, whether I would like to come with him and some other guys to...

I saw this in the city this week. A huge Advent calendar in the windows of that building. Every day is a new picture rolled out. Cute, isn’t it?

So a friend of mine and myself of course had another photoshoot tonight for a client, it was really fun to work with five pretty and quite talented girls, also it was the first real photoshoot for me to shoot tethered to my laptop and it all worked just fine. Also we were able to use some real lights to illumine the more shabby location. How we got that lights is a whole different and more sweaty...

I just read this groundbreaking article in WIRED magazine 16.11. It is about putting the idea of open source on hardware. Amazing thing. Please, do me a favor geeks out there, please read that article. This is revolutionary. So, who joins building the first open source space ship? Seriously, wouldn’t that be striking? I love that idea. Who’s in?

After peeling my tangerine I got a little tangerine dog playing with a ball. Cute, isn’t it?

I can’t stand that talking and writing about the biggest financial crisis since whenever. What’s that all about? It scares the hell out of the average citizen and doesn’t do any good at all, right? What I am rather scared of is this talking becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. So let’s make sure, it doesn’t!

My Gmail spam folder has decreased about 50% within the last weeks. There is a total of 1716 messages in there right now. Used to be about 3.6k some time. That’s great, maybe a little step onto a spam-free www some time? PS: the title is a little allusion to SPAMalot, a new musical, that will start in 2009 in cologne. you cannot overlook the advertising when you travel by train through...

Some years ago, in my childhood I witnessed grown-ups swearing at snow all the time. I just couldn’t understand why, I actually liked it, raving around, building snowmen (actually snowwomen, too) having snowball fights… That was the time I swore to myself never ever to condemn snow. But as it keeps snaining in the most unfitting situations, e.g. me having to walk outside in the cold,...

That’s part of the basic thesis of Malcom Gladwell: “Dedicate at least 10,000 hours to whatever it is you’re looking to master.”. Sounds pretty reasonable to me. You’ve got to try to become better and better from time to time. Enjoy the full talk at the 2008 AIGA Business Design Conference. (via chasejarvis)

I had a fun shooting today with Joe, a fellow student and friend of mine, and his sister Sarah. Light circumstances weren’t the best but I guess we made the best out of it. So this picture below stands for itself. Stay tuned for more to come.

I got some new light bulbs today, which emit a fake sun coloured light, that is supposed to make you feel a lot more like “oh, hello beautiful day, how R U?”. You know, kinda subconsciously activates your mind. Anyway, the problem is: they are a little too big for the lamp shade. So, what do I do? I really like the light, it is already working on me I suppose. I guess I will leave it...

I have been dreaming the craziest things lately, so that I am kinda looking forward to sleeping right now. Curious what my mind makes itself up this night.

My female neighbour started singing practices this morning with a very high voice and very loudly as well. Lucky for me that I am going out now and paying some tax fees to the Deutsche Post…
